Pastor Rich is excited to lead this particular study this fall. The book, Inspired, by Rachel Held Evans, is about the journey she took to try to understand what the Bible is and how it’s meant to be read. She explores contradictions and questions from her own experiences with the Bible. What she discovered changed her—and it can change you, too. This is the kind of book that all Christians should read! Books are $10 or by donation. The group will meet downtown at the Midtown Tavern, starting Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 6:00. No need to order food or drink. Pastor Rich has books available. Call the church if you are interested in joining this study.

Joi Tennant is offering an opportunity for anyone who may realize they have an anger problem that often gets in the way (don’t we all?), and perhaps could use some help learning how to understand and reduce anger in close relationships. The Dance of Anger, by Harriet Goldhor Lerner, Ph.D., is a brilliant, engaging and illuminating guide that has become a classic over the years. Lerner lays out the all-too-familiar patterns that all of us recognize, and then helps us understand how to gradually change them. Each chapter contains information that has relevance for any relationship you are in. Books are $10 or by donation. You can buy them used online for less. Date and time will be determined according to the people who respond. Joi wants to know when and where is best. You may call her for more information or to let her know you are interested. Her cell is: 517-712-2619.
